Vice Chancellor Turned Auto-Rickshaw Driver: A Powerful Message of Dignity in All Professions

To convey a powerful message to the people of Pakistan that there’s no shame in any job, Vice Chancellor Mansoor Akbar Kundi of Bahauddin Zakariya University, became an auto-rickshaw driver just days before his retirement.

This heartwarming gesture, captured in a viral video on social media, showcased Kundi, a renowned literary figure, behind the wheel of an auto-rickshaw on a city street.

Kundi, who was set to retire from his position at the university that very month, highlighted an important issue.

He pointed out that the university did not provide pensions to its employees, reflecting the challenging economic conditions in the cash-strapped country.

In light of these economic challenges, Kundi aimed to send a powerful message to the public: there is no shame in pursuing any profession, including that of an auto-rickshaw driver.

His actions were a testament to his belief in the dignity of labor and the importance of respecting all occupations.

It’s worth noting that prior to his role as Vice Chancellor at Bahauddin Zakariya University, Kundi had served as the Vice Chancellor of two other universities, including Gomal University.

Additionally, he had been a member of the Executive Board of the Higher Education Commission (HEC).

Kundi’s illustrious career also saw him retire from Balochistan University in grade 22 back in 2015.

In conclusion, Mansoor Akbar Kundi’s decision to become an auto-rickshaw driver just before his retirement serves as an inspiring reminder that every profession is worthy of respect, and there should be no shame in pursuing any job to make an honest living.

Kundi’s actions resonate with the idea that we should celebrate the value and dignity of all work.
